Hike and Bike the Plitvice lakes
Spend an amazing day on a bike cycling through the nature & forests of the Plitvice County and later we are going to hike on the Upper lakes of the National parks.
Things to see & do: The Fortress of Old Town of Drežnik (11th Century), Rakovica countryside, Barac cave, Upper lakes of the National park, Turanj Military Complex.
Program: On the way to the start of the bike tour we will stop in Turanj to visit the Militray Complex, the Croatian War of Independence Museum. The bike tour will start at Rakovica, a small town near the national park. After a short briefing with your bike guide, you will choose your bikes and get a helmet. The terrain is mostly flat with some rolling hills. On this tour you will see the Korana River, the old fortress of Drežnik Grad from the 11th century, cycle on the edge of the Korana canyon with beautiful views of the river, visit the Barac caves with expert guidance. According to the local legend, a man named Barac fought heroically and defeated a raging Turkish giant near these caves, which were thereafter named in his honor. After the bike tour we will continue to hike in the oldest and the biggest among the 8 national parks in Croatia. They consist of 16 connected lakes, numerous waterfalls and rich flora and fauna. The area is considered to be a phenomenon of karst hydrography and was put on the UNESCO World Heritage List in 1979.

Duration: 3-4 hours with the bicycle (30 km/ 18.7mi), hike to the Upper lakes of National park cca. 3 hours, van transfer takes 2 hours from Zagreb to NP Plitvice Lakes and 2 hours from the NP Plitvice Lakes to Zagreb.
(The price includes: service of a licensed bike guide, driver, car, transportation costs, National park entrance fee, entrance to the Barac cave with expert guidance, visit of the Turanj Military Complex, mountain bike, helmet, the transfer from Zagreb and back. Food and drinks are not included in the price.)
